In the field of pressure vessels, an F&D head refers to a "flanged and dished" head.

F&D heads are typically used for low-pressure applications, usually in vessels with a design pressure of no more than 75 psi. They have a smaller knuckle radius, and nozzles supporting pumps, agitators, etc. should generally not be located on them to avoid head buckling caused by high nozzle loads. F&D heads can be made of a variety of steel substrates and can be either in compliance with ASME requirements or not. Compared with 2:1 ASME elliptical heads, torispherical heads (F&D heads) are slightly deeper, which gives them some advantages in chemical mixing applications, and they can be cheaper in smaller-diameter vessels (less than about 120 inches).
